Handmade udon

In Takamatsu we made Udon, which is a japanese meal who looks like large pasta.
We mix all the ingredients at first with hands, and then by walking upon with our feet. It was a fun experience.
Then we ate the udon with some other japanese food, like tempuras, shrimps and nimono. It was delicious! The udon are very quick to prepare, just a few minutes and it is fine.
We received some udon and I ate it with my friends when I came back home. Everybody was happy to try handmade udon!

Lunch in Ginza

I tried for the first time the japanese wine, it was very good. But the best part of the meal was the rice. It was absolutely delicious, almost transparent. The sashimi, the tempura and the different okazu were perfect too.

Shrine Fukutoku

In Tokyo we visited a small shrine (jinja) in Ginza, at about 10minutes from the Nihonbashi bridge I was mentioning in the previous article. We learn about the way to make a prayer in a japanese shrine and about this shrine history. The guide explained us that a long time ago, during the Edo period, the shogun Tokugawa spotted a new sprout, on the bark of the sawtooth oak gate, and the shrine became also called the "Mebuki Inari" (sprouting shrine). It is a very beautiful place in the middle of Tokyo, and I like the contrast with the buildings around.

Nihonbashi, othe bridge in the center of Tokyo

We went to see Nihonbashi, a bridge in the center of Tokyo. We listen the story of the bridge, and learned about the kirin (the dragon in the middle of the bridge) and the shishi (a lion like creature, as a gardian at the entry and the exit of the bridge).
It is a beautiful place with an interesting history.

The gardens of the Nezu museum

I went to the Nezu museum in Tokyo for the first time, and it was truly amazing, I really enjoyed the place.
In the first place I would like to present the garden, who was huge, around 17000m2, which is rare in the center of Tokyo. There was eight tea houses, and some small waiting room really cute. I recommend going during the fall, the colors were stunning. I wish I can go during the spring too, to see the cherry blossoms.
In the garden too there was a lot of things to see, like old sculptures and stones with interesting shapes.

Handmade tofu

Yesterday we went in a hand made tofu restaurant, it was absolutely delicious. There was a lot of different textures, from the pudding to the hard ones, and some tofu cheesecake for the desert. It was very different to the industrial tofu that I am used to eat!
We eat the tofu with some olive oil and soy sauce, or wasabi.

Shibuya

This is the Shibuya crossing. It is a famous place in Tomyo, it is quite impressive for European people because in general we don't have intersections that big. It is near to the station, it is a well know spot.

In Fukuyama I had the chance to see how to fish on a boat. Then we ate the fish, the biggest one, called "Kochi". We fried it in the oven, it was very yummy.

Zombie night

Halloween is very popular in Japan too. Lot of events are organised everywhere, and my favorite is the zombie night. It was a chance to see a lot of cosplay and to make new friends!

The japanese bedroom

I like the japanese style bedroom. There is almost nothing in the room, and even the futon is stored in the closet during the daytime. I find it very peaceful and relaxing.

Japanese breakfast

In Fukuyama I had the chance to eat a typical Japanese breakfast, with some fish (named Aji), rice, tamagoyaki (the Japanese omelette), nori and miso soup. It was delicious! It was pretty big so I wasn't hungry until dinner. I think I will try to eat japanese breakfast at home too :)

Baseball

I went to the Hiroshima stadium yesterday to see the baseball match. The Hiroshima Carp won!! I don't know very well the baseball but i love the ambiance and it was very fun.
Baseball is the most popular sport in Japan, like soccer in France.
